Kurt Wagner Kurt has been employed with Rum Runner Dive Shop since 2006 as retail staff and service technician. He was originally Scuba certified in 2002 and has earned his Master Diver certification. Kurt is currently working on his Dive Master training. His major area of interest is the history of NC wrecks. Kurt graduated from ECU in 2010 with a BS in geology.

Andrew Skalko NAUI Instructor Andrew has been employed with Rum Runner since 2006 but spent many years around the shop when his father owned the shop for the preceding 6 years. He was first Scuba certified when he was 12 years old and now has over 14 years of diving experience. He earned his NAUI instructor in 2010 and has taught many of our students since then. He also serves as a Dive Master and first mate on Tortuga Charters. In addition to his sales and training skills Andrew is also a regulator and cylinder technician, servicing all brands of regulators we sell.

Alan Averette NAUI Instructor Alan is a UNC graduate that returned to Greenville after college, and never left. He is a General Contractor and Realtor in our area, as well as one of our instructors. He began diving through our NAUI basic class and continued to further his certifications over the years right here in our shop. He is now a NAUI Instructor and an HSA Instructor. You may see him teaching in our shop or off-site classes too. Alan has enjoyed many dives over the years ranging from local NC beaches down to the Florida keys, Bahamas and Caribbean. You may even hear of a trip to look for megalodon shark teeth in the Santee Cooper black water of South Carolina. If not teaching a class, he is usually in Morehead for the weekends and is always looking for a dive buddy or willing to guide new divers on the Graveyard of the Atlantic.

Lee Grubb, Ph.D NAUI Instructor Dr. Grubb is an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at East Carolina University. He has a Ph.D. in Management and has made teaching his career. While at ECU he rose through the ranks to Instructor and has been working with students in the Exercise and Sports Science scuba program for two years. He enjoys the historical aspect of diving in the Graveyard of the Atlantic but dreams of one day diving in the Great Lakes.

Rum Runner Dive Shop is staffed by experienced divers in all areas of our operation.
We are proud that we can offer the finist training in the area by instructors who are not only SCUBA instructors,
but highly educated, multifaceted diving professionals. In fact we see a great value having well rounded individuals
